Turns out, this can be done by dragging the mouse onto the desired audio layers. (Image credit: Future) EditingĬutting a film in Lightworks doesn’t appear to have changed since the 2020 version, although we feel we need to amend a statement we’d made last time: back then we were struggling to manage to add a video clip on a second layer, without it overwriting the audio laid out by clips on the first one. But I'm afraid you have to wait for answers of a pro user then. One great new addition is support for online media services when importing.

If you don't want that, I THINK the pro version might help you out here. Just change the tab from "Editing" to "Delivery".Īll of these approaches however require you do render the file _again_. And it also allows to convert a Videofile created by Lightworks to more "User-Friendly" Formats such as DVD, H264, WebM and so on. It allows you to convert Video Files into a Lightworks-Friendly Format. Simply drag your AVI File (Only AVI, nothing else except MPEG1 Videos will work!) and select video and audio compression.Ī tool created by tin2tin from the Lightworks Community. I recommend to install x264vfw for video (h264). Īs long as YOU got the VFW Codec, you can convert it to anything. You might want to remove the ".avi" in the file afterwards. Just drag your video file onto the batch-file and let ffmpeg do it's work. Now save it as "to_mp4.bat" (Make sure it's NOT changed to ".bat.txt"!) This will create a (visually) lossless video. My question is: Does the Lightworks Pro version eliminate this problem by providing an exported file format that works with standard Windows Media, Quick Time or any other such main stream players WITHOUT the need to download and add the Matrox VFW codec or any other codec?įfmpeg -i %1 -c:v libx264 -crf 18 -preset slow -c:a libvo_aacenc -b:a 192k %1.mp4

However, I do not want everyone that wishes to view these files to have to go through the problem of finding and downloading the codec pack and installing it on every computer out there. I have already come across the problem of no video playback after exporting a file and solved the issue by downloading the Matrox VFW Codecs for Windows Media Player. My problem/question deals with saving/exporting a file. I can import, edit video & audio, move clips around, do transitions and effects and pretty much whatever I would need to do to create a complete video/movie. I’ve been using Lightworks for several weeks now and have a basic grasp of using the free version. I am an amateur (very amateur) video editor/hobbyist.
